Gnakouri Tohouri is the Founder & CEO of GMATO Foods LLC – a start-up that processes, brands and markets naturally-grown African healthy plant-based food products to resellers in Sub Saharan Africa and the US. GMATO’s first product – Attiéké d’Or (AT-ee-A-Kay), a cassava derived gluten free delicacy, has won the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) Award. Attiéké d’Or will soon be launched in the US market.
Gnakouri has over 15 years of experience encompassing investment banking, private equity, corporate management, academia and entrepreneurship. Besides his business venture, Gnakouri works to raise awareness about critical African issues through public forums. He has published in the Stanford Journal of African Studies about the Cȏte d’Ivoire crisis and acted as a panelist at the Stanford Africa Business Forum.
Gnakouri holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and currently lives in Silicon Valley.
